What: Grand Designs Live
Where: ExCel, London
When: Saturday 30th April – Sunday 8th May
Opening at the end of April and continuing in the first week of May, Grand Designs Live is firmly established as a great exhibition to visit if you want to learn about contemporary design and technology especially if you are building your own home. The show has over 550 exhibitors, all personally vetted by Kevin McCloud and the Grand Designs team.
What: The Decorative Antiques and Textile Fair
Where: Battersea Park, London
When: Tuesday 3rd – Saturday 8th May
The Decorative Antiques and Textile Fair is a great place to find unusual antiques and statement pieces to include in any interior. Over 140 exhibitors are at the show, which is held three times a year in Battersea Park. With a broad range of fine antiques and affordable pieces it is the perfect place to find something to add an eclectic element to a contemporary interior.
What: Cavaliero Finn contemporary art and design show
Where: Herne Hill, London
When: Saturday 7th – Sunday 8th May
Cavaliero Finn is a home-cum-gallery based in SE London that gives customers a different experience shopping for art in a home environment. Opening during the Dulwich Festival the gallery will showcase work from 15 widely acclaimed artists and designer-makers. All the work on show is priced between £20 – £3,000 so it’s a great opportunity to pick up affordable art for your home.
What: kbb London
Where: ExCel, London
When: Sunday 15th - Tuesday 17th May
kbb London is the capital’s only trade exhibition in 2011 dedicated to kitchens, bedrooms and bathrooms. With an extensive seminar programme from leading experts it’s a great place to learn about new developments. The Innovation Centre will showcase 20 of the latest products displaying outstanding innovation in product design, and there will be two awards given – one voted for by show attendees.
What: Clerkenwell Design Week
Where: Clerkenwell, London
Thursday 26th May
One of my personal highlights of the year, the Clerkenwell Design Week is a must for anyone with an interest in design. The week has over 150 events, pop up exhibitions, talks, workshops - the list is endless. With the many showrooms of Clerkenwell throwing open their doors it is the only place to be at the end of May – register now to save the £30 entrance fee.
