Room of the week – vibrant hallway
This weeks Room of the Week is a hallway with a vibrant feature wall. From the House to Home galleries this hallway is a modern statement room to welcome guests into your home.
The hallway is the first room seen by guests to your home so it deserves to be given the same consideration as the rest of the house. This room has a very fresh look with the combination of strong lime green and bright whites.
A Chinese style console adds an interestingly twist to the hallway and this style of furniture can also be used throughout the home. The Suri console shown below from John Lewis would look stunning in a dining room, especially if combined with a rich red decorating scheme.
Amy Butler produces a range of wallpaper for Graham and Brown that would be great for creating this look. Available in several different colourways it would add a wall of interest to any hallway.
If you would like to add a touch of Chinoiserie to your interior but don’t want to use a wallpaper or furniture Jasper Conran has designed a range for Wedgwood that is classically inspired but would look great in a modern hallway.
Always give your hallway the attention it deserves. You can either choose to make it vibrant like the room here, or take a neutral route - just remember it’s an important room of any home.

Hi Andrew, I love that zingy hallway, it’s really fresh and although bright I don’t think i’d get bored of it.
Orchid Furniture is also a good place to get furniture like that featured from John Lewis. They have a wide range of asian furniture. http://www.orchidfurniture.co.uk
Hope your enjoying this early summer we’re having. For me it’s bliss.
Thanks for the info on Orchid furniture, they have a good range.
