This is a monthly feature detailing Interiors focussed events for the following month, for example trade exhibitions, shows, art exhibitions or new store openings. What: Summer Exhibition
Where: Royal Academy of Arts, London
When: Tuesday 7 June – Monday 15 August
Recognised as one of largest open art exhibitions in the world, the RA Summer Exhibition is held annually in Burlington House on Piccadilly over the summer months. The exhibition has been held every year since 1769, and although more than 1,200 pieces are on display, over 10,000 are actually submitted for consideration. The vast majority of the pieces are for sale.
What: Olympia Contemporary
Where: Olympia, London
When: Tuesday 7 June – Monday 15 August
A new exhibition in 2011 and part of The Fine Art & Antiques Fair held annually, Olympia Contemporary will showcase works of contemporary and modern art, design and furniture from here in the UK and abroad. Adding a contemporary angle to the traditional Antiques fair this should be a great exhibition.
What: Salvo Fair
Where: Knebworth House, Hertfordshire
When: Friday 24 June – Sunday 26 June
Salvo Fair is an annual exhibition of architectural salvage, garden antiques and reclaimed building materials, held in the grounds of Knebworth House. Everything is for sale, if you are looking for reclaimed windows, fireplaces, roof tiles (the list is endless!) this is the place to visit.
What: New Designers – Part 1
Where: Business Design Centre, London
When: Wednesday 29 June – Saturday 2 July
New Designers brings together over 3,500 design graduates from across all the major disciplines. Part 1 features Textiles, Fashion & Accessories, Contemporary Applied Arts, Ceramics & Glass, and Jewellery & Precious Metalwork. This is the place to meet the next top designers! Part 2 in early July will feature Product Design, Furniture Design, Visual Communications and Spatial Design.
What: The Homebuilding & Renovating Show
Where: Sandown Park, Surrey
When: Saturday 25th – Sunday 26th June
The Homebuilding & Renovating Show comes to Sandown Park with over 140 specialist exhibitors. The show includes a range of free seminars and specialist masterclasses on everything you need to know if building your own home, including planning, heating, insurance and landscape design.
