Hästens – the best beds in the world? Time will tell …
I am very excited to have been asked by Hästens to try one of their famous beds for 2 weeks and blog about it. Although I have never slept on one of their beds, a friend who regularly stays at the Kallfors Hotel in Sweden tells me they provide the best nights sleep you will ever have – so my expectations are now fairly high!
Hästens have been manufacturing beds since 1852 and they are still made from only all-natural materials. The pine used in their beds is grown at a natural pace to ensure maximum strength, the finest pure flax, wools and cottons are used – and the mattresses are created using genuine horsehair, which is hypoallergenic.
Hästens beds are available in many of the top hotels of the world including The Four Seasons in New York and Blakes Hotel in London. Given the amount of time we spend sleeping and how important restful sleep is to your general health, the quality of your bed is one area where you should never comprise. Hästens beds are expensive, so are they worth it?
My first job is to go for a sleep consultation at one of their London stores to assess what bed is going to be best for my sleeping style. Hästens will then loan me a bed for 2 weeks, helpfully storing my existing bed and mattress during the test for me. I currently have a simple wooden bed frame with an expensive, and very comfortable, mattress so the bar is already raised pretty high.
I hope to take delivery of my bed early next month and will blog about it throughout the trial so watch this space, I might never want to give it back … or maybe I will be longing for my own bed? Watch this space for an honest, no holds barred review.

Ah a hastens bed I fitted a bedroom for a customer who swore by these beds.. In fact the whole upstairs had to work with the Hastens bed.. I hope it is a great nights sleep. They certainly raved about it.
