Interiors Calender – December 2011
This is a monthly feature detailing Interiors focussed events for the following month, for example trade exhibitions, shows, art exhibitions or new store openings. This month we have featured a few Christmas themed events to help you get ready for the season, and plan some festive outings!
What: Christmas tree lighting
Where: Trafalgar Square, London
When: Thursday 1 December
Every home needs a beautiful Christmas tree so why not visit the tree in Trafalgar Square for inspiration. This years marks the 65th anniversary of Norway donating a tree as an appreciation of friendship and our help in the World War II. The tree will remain in the square until 5 January 2012.
What: Taste of Christmas
Where: ExCel, London
When: Friday 2 December – Sunday 4 december
Taste of Christmas will be held at ExCel this year and as well as the gourmet offerings there will be the opportunity to do lots of shopping. This is the perfect place to buy presents for a foodie, or just treat yourself to new things for your own home.
What: Traffic Free Shopping Day – Oxford Street and Regents Street
Where: London
When: Saturday 10 December – Sunday 11 December
For one weekend only a large part of the West End will be closed to traffic to allow you to shop traffic free. Both Oxford Street and Regents Street will be closed allowing you to visit all your favourite home stores and department stores.
What: The Dock Christmas Market
Where: Portobello Dock, London
When: Thursday 16 December – Sunday 19 December
This is the first ever Christmas festival at the home of the Tom Dixon design studio. The event will feature great design products, good food and fun events. There will be a host of new products for sale, and among the food offerings will be La Fromagerie – the best cheese supplier in London.
