4 products for 4 rooms … discoveries from BlogTourNYC
It is just over a month since I returned from my fantastic BlogTourNYC adventure. After catching up with my client work I now have time to reflect on the wonderful trip and the many new discoveries.
On my blog I’m running a series of regular posts, each covering product recommendations. This time we are focusing on four new companies found while in New York.
Living
The New Traditionalists has to be some of the coolest furniture I have found in a long time. Very well designed and exquisitely made their furniture are investment pieces that will last a lifetime. The furniture is designed in New York and made in New England – and I love it. Watch out for a full post on The New Traditionalists later this week …
Cooking
The Future Perfect showcase the very best in decorative arts and design, and I found them at the Architectural Digest Home Show. The Piet Hein Eek range was an instant hit with me, it is manufactured from scrapwood and this ensures each piece is unique. In a perfectly crafted kitchen a line of bar stools like these would offer a great contrast with their very distinctive individual style.
Dining
A creative use of mirrors can really add atmosphere to a room. Palo Samko are a furniture company producing amazing round mirrors with a walnut frame and a leather hanging strap. Hanging a few together would create a wonderful dining experience if you use candlelight to light the room. The company also produce an extensive selection of furniture – and some rather fun clocks.
Garden
Interesting outdoor furniture is very hard to find if you want something out of the ordinary. Kenneth Cobonpue produce an amazing range of furniture made from fabric tubes woven together over a steel frame. This high back sofa would provide a wonderful spot in your garden to curl up and take in nature – if you are feeling brave it is also available in bright yellow!
BlogTourNYC was organised by Modenus and was made possible by a long list of wonderful sponsors. From the world of kitchens this includes Poggenpohl, Miele, Blanco, Jenn Air, Scholtes and Modern Aire. The fabulous bathroom sponsors are Samuel Heath, Victoria + Albert, Vitra and Axor. The other sponsors are Big Ass Fans, Duverre Hardware, Ethan Allen, Rotsen Furniture, Spirit of Sports and Walluncia.
Thank you to all the sponsors – I’m still taking in everything I found and saw – BlogTourNYC was certainly a voyage of discovery!

I totally love the bar stool!!!
The work of Piet Hein Eek is amazing Igor – they also produce the most fantastic scrapwood wallpaper
