Room of the Week – neutral bedroom
This weeks Room of the Week is a simple styled bedroom. From the House to Home galleries this bedroom uses simple colours with interest added through layers of different textures and materials.
This look is very Scandinavian and it works through pared down styling to create a very calming interior. This is one of my favourite styles of decoration, and one reason I love trips to any of the Scandinavian countries.
Another Country manufacture a great range of well designed furniture that would suit a room of this style. The company was started in 2010 and produces their furniture in the UK and Europe from FSC certified timber. They will supply to anywhere in the world!
Simple styling will help you achieve the look of this room. After choosing your furniture and finishes you should add a few simple accessories to complete the look. Folklore based in Islington, London sell a great range of furniture and accessories and most of it also available online. These simple milk bottles would add a fun touch to any interior.
If you want to take the wooden style even further take a look at the wonderful wallpaper from Piet Hein Eek. These reproduce the look of planks of scrap wood. Easily applied to the wall the wallpaper is also washable. There are 8 different versions to choose from that would suit any interior, from the colourful version shown to more pared down plainer versions.

Hi Andrew
Really nice post, I love Folklore after Clarissa Hulse introduced us at Heart Home. Thanks for the mention of Another Country – it is a perfect fit to this neutral style.

Both Another Country and Folklore are new discoveries to me Daniel. Folklore isn’t far from my favourite coffee shop on Upper Street so I often look longingly into their window!

Brilliant post Andrew. That bedroom looks like my idea of heaven! If only I could replicate that in my house. Pretty sure I would never get up though! Thanks for introducing me to Folklore. Love those bottles.
