LA here I come … #BlogTourLA
A couple of weeks ago, after a long week in the office, I immediately perked up when an email from Modenus hit my Inbox late on a Friday evening. ”Would I like to go on a Blog Tour to LA?” they asked. I thought about it for 10 seconds, and bounced back an email saying “COUNT ME IN”. So in early October I am so delighted that I will be attending BlogTourLA!
I went on my first Modenus BlogTour back in March 2012 to New York. It was an amazing experience, spending a week with design obsessed friends was unforgettable. I made friends in the design industry on that trip who will be friends forever and have such great memories of many happy times.
This BlogTour starts in Los Angeles on October 1 and will last until October 6. One of our trips will be a visit to the first West Edge Design Fair that will be held in Santa Monica. There will be over 150 exhibitors at the fair, including The New Traditionalists and BDDW. I know these two companies from my New York BlogTour so look forward to catching up to see their latest collections,
I really want to try visit some local design shops while in California so have already been doing my research. I love many US brands, including Crate & Barrel, West Elm and Restoration Hardware – but it’s the local stores I am really interested in visiting. Heath Ceramics is one company that has already caught my eye. They have been making ceramics and tiles in Sausalito, California since 1959 – and also have a store and design studio in Los Angeles. I love the simplicity of this Appetizer Set from their current range.
Food is obviously another big interest of mine so I’ve started researching the local hotspots. Sometimes you just can’t beat a good quality hamburger so I really like the look of Father’s Office. Billed as a Gastropub and the home of the ‘Office Burger’ I think the Santa Monica location might be going on my list of places to eat.
As you’ve probably guessed I am pretty excited about been selected to go on this BlogTour to Los Angeles. Stay tuned for more updates as we approach our departure date. When I’m there you will be able to follow our adventures through my twitter account and if time allows I will be blogging on my trip. Thanks Veronika from Modenus for asking me, I am really so excited about this trip!
