Room of the Week

June 2, 2014

Today’s Room of the Week is a large bathroom which combines traditional fittings with contemporary styling. The roll top bath is a feature found in many traditional bathrooms and is a real luxury if there is space in your bathroom to allow the bath to have space around it. Subway style tiles are reminiscent of the style of tiles seen on the New York subway and there are many versions now available. Their simple style can combine well with traditional fittings.

On a recent project we wanted a subway style tile that would add a luxury touch to a small ensuite we were working on for a client. The bathroom is very small and we wanted a tile that would help to increase a feeling of space in the room. The Chic range from Topps Tiles was chosen and we used the light grey for three of the walls. The tile works as a great clean base tile for a room, and gives a very sophisticated look.

On the other wall within the ensuite we used another tile in the Chic range called Metal, a dark tile with a metallic sheen to it. This works as a great contrast within the shower area. The finished effect can be seen below. For smart subway tiles the Chic range at Topps is very hard to beat!

This room was originally featured in the extensive galleries of House to Home. Take a look over at their website for room inspiration, and be sure to check back here every week to find which one of the rooms has been showcased.
