4 products for 4 rooms – living cooking sleeping bathing

August 6, 2010

[tweetmeme]This is the first of a series of recommendations, 4 products each time for 4 different rooms – products I have usually specified for clients and can personally recommend them.

Living

The Arne sofa by B&B Italia is the perfect sofa to dive into after a long day.  It is available in a huge selection of colours and suits both formal or casual rooms.  I used this in a clients media room to provide a big comfortable seating area for up to six people.  The high price means it belongs firmly in the investment piece class but you won’t be disappointed with its looks or comfort.

Cooking

The Adagio cooker hood from Elica provides a great solution for extraction in the kitchen if you don’t want to make a feature of your cooker hood.  The extractor glides up from the work surface in a Bond’esque way, extracts while you cook and then retracts back when you have finished.  A great choice for an island with a hob, especially if you want to keep clean simple lines.

 Sleeping

Orla Kiely produces a great range of bedding to add some fabulous colour to your bedroom.  Adding a retro touch the Multi Stem print shown is great to combine with a neutral palette to allow you to pick up on the colours in other accessories.  We used this in a client’s all white bedroom to add a great splash of colour.

Bathing

The Raindance shower head from Hansgrohe has revolutionised showering at home since its introduction and has won countless awards, it is the shower head I specify for most bathroom projects.  Recently they have introduced AirPower to the shower head, air is drawn in and added to the water to give the ultimate shower!

Great blog post Andrew, I look forward to the rest of the series. Shame the sofa won’t fit in my office!

If you had the Arnie sofa in your office you would never get any work done Claire, it’s a really comfortable piece of furniture – great for lounging!

    Hi Andrew,

Love your blog, and being from Brazil (Amazon region to be precise) I adore the Raindance Showerhead… total bliss!

The sofa is very good too! I can see myself diving there with my favourite book … and a drink, of course.
