4 products for 4 rooms – dining gardening sleeping living

October 5, 2010

I’m running a series of blog posts, each covering product recommendations. These are products I have usually specified for clients, so I know they work well. There will be 4 products for 4 different rooms.

Dining

The Axel table from Bontempi is a beautiful glass table that doubles in size to provide extra table space when needed.  The mechanism is very easy to operate with the extra glass sitting underneath the other piece.  We recently used this table for a client who needed a table in her office/dining room that would be a nice desk to use for work but one that she could also use for occasional entertaining.

Gardening

The Luxury Planter Collection have a great range of highly colourful powder coated planters manufactured in galvanised steel.  The planters are available in a range of over 20 colours and add a great splash of colour and a contemporary element to any garden.  We used 3 planters in bright green to add a fun element to a garden containing lots of limestone.  The planters were lit from the base and the effect at night was very dramatic.

 Sleeping

The White Company now sell pure white bed linen with a thread count of 800 – it is some of the softest most luxurious bedding available.  Use a throw to add some colour and consider using different throws for summer and winter to keep the look fresh.

 Living

Element 7 manufacturer the most beautiful solid wood flooring and specialising in wide-plank wood to give a first class finish and a floor that is suitable for all uses, including using with under floor heating.  We used a dark walnut floor recently for a dining room to add some drama and warmth to an otherwise neutral living space.

I love the idea of using the bold-coloured planters – what a dramatic effect.
The White Company has such a great range of quality timeless products – the bedding looks particularly stunning when it is combined with colour in a throw or cushion, and the look can be changed so simply. They are both quite simple ideas but the end look is clean and stylish.

I often combine white bed linen with different throws and cushions for different seasons, it helps keep the look fresh throughout the year – warm comforting colours for winter, bright and breezy one for summer.
