Visiting trade shows is recognised as a part of a designers job. We attend great shows but we also go to shows where you find nothing new. Thankfully a recent visit to the Surface Design Show was a designers dream. Almost as soon as I arrived at the show I found the Corporion stand. I was drawn to the occasional table covered with crackle glaze tiles and also the amazing animal print textured tiles on display.

Corporion stock a wonderful range of handmade tiles and specialises in metalic and hand painted finishes. If you want leather effect tiles they are the people to go see! Available in Ostrich, Rattleskin or Buffalo the finished products are very realistic and beautiful. They are available in many different finishes, the metallic colour shown below is very effective. Crocodile skin is another design available.

In addition to manufacturing tiles Corporion also have a beautiful interior design showroom in Battersea. The showroom is arranged in room sets so is a great source of interior inspiration. It features the furniture and upholstery Corporion make onsite. An interesting option is drawer fronts with the tiled finish. The effect produces very tactile pieces of furniture. They also use the tiles as table tops for occasional tables.

In addition to the tiles and furniture Corporion will also manufacture any item of upholstery and have a great good selection of lighting and decorating accessories. Take a trip to their showroom in London on Battersea Park Road or look at their website – I can’t wait to specify their products for a project soon.

I really loved this company too, especially their imprinted concrete leather. Looks so real and of high quality. Great blog post Andrew.

I agree. If honest I am not a huge fan of faux finishes but these stones are gorgeous!

    Hi Andrew
Thanks for sharing this with us. I didn’t make it to the Surface Design Show this year, so it’s great to have your insights.

It was a great show Nicola. Lots of good innovative products – I will be featuring more on the blog over the next few weeks.
