Goodbye The Sleep Room, Hello Loaf

May 4, 2012

Just loafing around, what could be a better way to relax? After around 3 years in business The Sleep Room is expanding and will become Loaf in October. This week I visited their rather fabulous showroom in West London to look at their new ranges.

Started by Charlie Marshall the company has grown slowly but surely, making sure they get things right before expanding their product range. They pride themselves on good customer service – your goods are delivered, installed and all the packaging is then taken away. And in the unlikely event that you are not happy they will offer you a full refund.

After starting in one small unit near Westbourne Grove their new showroom will shortly be occupying the entire top floor of the building they started in. They officially become Loaf on October 1st and until then the two brands are running side by side.

Having spent time loafing at the new showroom I can highly recommend them. Their range has recently been expanded to introduce an excellent sofa range. Also new is lighting, bed linen and bathroom towels – and bedroom furniture is also available. The well named Brilliant blanket is made of very soft lambswool and is big enough to dress the whole bed.

Two pieces of good news about Loaf – a large majority of their products are made in the UK and also they are surprisingly affordable. With sofas for around £1,000 – £1,500 they represent real valve for money. I could easily have sat in the Oscar sofa all afternoon. With a feather and foam construction they provide comfort but will also require minimal maintenance to keep them looking good.

Another favourite of mine is the Big Boy lamp. It is inspired by the traditional floor-standing French candlesticks and would make a stunning feature in any room. I love the distressed weathered look and am hoping to use this on a current project.

Aiming to eventually cover the whole home their range will continue to expand as their showroom grows. So stop sitting and home and get yourself over to the Loaf showroom and do your loafing there!

Hi! Have you tried their furniture and their mattress everything looks great but I would like to know if the furniture is sturdy enough and the mattress as cozy as claimed! 🙂 Otherwise they seem awesome and the kind of people you want to buy things from!

I haven’t actually slept in their beds .. but it is very well made and they get good reviews. Pop along to their showroom, I think you will be impressed.
