Camouflage hooks

June 8, 2012

I recently wanted some new hooks for our office. Obviously for a design company I was looking for something that was not only functional but also had style and good design. We need hooks that would hang a variety of things – coats, bags, scarves, umbrellas – everything I want to try to organise in our office!

One of our first finds was the Dart Coat Hooks from suckuk. These are great hooks but I don’t think they were flexible enough for all our needs. Then browsing through our library I rediscovered the brochure on Camouflage from Frost Design that I recently picked up on a visit to Helsinki.

Camouflage was designed by Danish design duo busk + hertzog and won a reddot design award in 2008. This award is generally recognised as an indicator of good quality and that the designer is among the contemporary design elite. Busk + Hertzog designs feature pure uncluttered lines and they also believe that anything decorative should also have a function.

The Camouflage hooks can take on a 3D effect as they can all be mounted at three different distances from the wall. Spacers are available in 35mm, 50mm and 65mm. This also allows you to mount them overlapping to create the effect you want. Six different colours of Camouflage are available as well as polished or brushed chrome. You can purchase the hooks in packs of three or buy them individually to create your own scheme. The large hooks are 400mm wide by 200mm high. The mini hooks are 80mm wide by 58mm high.

Every element in your home deserves to be carefully thought about, don’t settle for anything ordinary. Camouflage takes the humble hook and will make it a design element to your home. More information can be found on the Frost Design website.
