Room of the week

March 14, 2013

This weeks Room of the Week is reminding us that Spring is thankfully only a week away. Although the weather in London maybe cold it is very easy to add some Spring colour to your home. From the House to Home galleries this kitchen use a pale yellow palette that is accented by the use of muted greys and natural splashes of green.

Using yellow can bring a very cheerful look to a room, especially pleasing during the winter time. Many people however are scared of exploring the use of the colour but there are so many hues and shades that there is bound to be one that is right for your interior. Little Greene have a broad selection of yellow shades available. They range from the pale Custard, through Lemon Tree and Cary to the very vibrant Mister David. Even if you think this might be too much yellow for a full room it is a perfect accent colour.

Although we would all like beautiful views from our windows the reality is often different, especially for urban dwellers. Changing your window glass to etched glass is an expensive option but you can simply add window film to achieve the same look. Brume is the best known supplier of window film in the UK and has been in business for over 10 years. Whether you want a plain design or bold coloured pattern using their window film will provide the desired privacy for a relatively small cost.

As we head into Spring take a look at your own home and see what changes you can make to your own home to move out from winter. Inspiration will be all around, even a simple vase of daffodils can help inject some Spring colour into your home!

I love yellow, such a cheery colour. I love the room above, farmhouse/rustic tables are so welcoming, the natural tones paired with the yellow make this the perfect scene.
