4 products for 4 rooms

May 20, 2013

I’m running a series of blog posts, each covering product recommendations. This week I am looking at exhibitors from Clerkenwell Design Week which opens tomorrow and is my personal favourite of all the design shows. With exhibitors spread over 4 different locations I’ve selected one exhibitor from each area to showcase 4 products for 4 different rooms.

Living

James UK are exhibiting in the Farmiloe Building, a stunning Victorian former glassworks that is the HQ of the Clerkenwell event. James are a British company specialising in high-end furniture, with a focus on gorgeous upholstery and the use of premium hardwoods. I love the double version of the new Norton Wing Chair. The contrasting fabric and the buttoning give great detail, it can also be made bespoke to suit any interior.

Cooking

For the kitchen I have chosen Hi-Macs who are based in the pop up Pavilions, a new feature this year at Clerkenwell – Covered at Charterhouse Square focuses entirely on surfaces. We recently used Hi-Macs for a kitchen project and were very pleased with the result. The product is available in a wide range of colours and easily workable to produce the seamless look of a solid surface product.

Dining

Exhibiting in the House of Detention this year is Alexander Mueller and I’m choosing his beautiful table for our dining room. Made from solid American Walnut and Ash it is an object of pure beauty with defined clean lines and very high levels of craftsmanship. The House of Detention is often the launch pad of many up and coming designers – and this is definitely a guy to watch!

Bedroom

Adding a luxurious screen to your bedroom adds both an interesting feature and a reminder of days gone by. At the Order of St Johns Ochre will be displaying some of their gorgeous range of furniture and accessories. This beautiful screen features vellum on the front with a novasuede reverse.
