Louis Poulsen Ph5

September 16, 2013

When a light fitting has been in production for over 50 years it demonstrates that good design stands the test of time and will appeal to people through many generations. Often though a new colour option can further expand the appeal to even more people, or suit the current look. Louis Poulsen have recognized this and are launching their iconic PH 5 light fitting in a range of new colours.

Introduced in 1958 the PH 5 celebrated its 50th anniversary in 2008. Over the many years it has been in production lighting has increasingly become recognised as an essential part of any interior design project. This new range of PH 5 lights allows you more choice in your design statement and can now be combined with your interior style seamlessly. The new colours will work really well with the many shades and textures seen in today’s contemporary palette.

I personally love the army colour fitting and also the grey one – I’m sure I will be specifying this for clients soon. Grey is such an ontrend colour now having replaced the beige trend seen for many years. It is often a good idea to supplement your grey interior with splashes of colour and the complementary colours on the fitting allow you to do that. It is also available in the softer combinations of white/rose and also rose/green. Either of these colours would be perfect for a romantic style in a bedroom.

Due to be in the shops this autumn the new PH 5 versions will cost around £500. I am sure the new range is bound to become a new design classic – and seen in many home for years to come.
