Room of the Week

May 12, 2014

Our Room of the Week is a glamorous styled living room that features lots of luxe details. With an ornate mirror and large chandelier the room is definitely filled with the designer style factor. The aged look on the walls is created using a very on trend colour grey, this demonstrates that you can easily combine the old and new look to give your home an eclectic look.

To supplement the grey colour scheme of this room a rug with splashes of blue has been introduced to the room. This creates a new level of detail to this interior which could otherwise appear flat. The vase in an primary red also has the same effect to create a restful interior with interesting element.

The lovely leather chair featured in this week’s room, the Repos, is designed by Antonio Citterio and manufactured by Vitra. Designed in 2011 the chair is available in a variety of fabric and leather finishes, and in a slightly different style called the Grand Repos. At the time of designing these chairs Antonio Citterio said “developing a new chair for Vitra in the wake of a masterpiece like the Eames Lounge Chair was a unique challenge”. Both chairs are worthy contenders against the Lounge chair in my opinion, combine it with the Ottoman and you’ve got the perfect place to sit and relax.

This room was originally featured in the extensive galleries of House to Home. Take a look over at their website for room inspiration, and be sure to check back here every week to find which one of the rooms has been showcased.

Combining old with new is such a strong look right now in interiors.

Thanks Sarah. It’s also a great way to combine the things you have – with the thing you want!
